Results for Phthalates (DEHP)

Increased ear thickening, and clinical scores (skin dryness, eruption, and wound), more prominent eosinophilic inflammation, increased severity of mast cell degranulation, and enhanced protein expression of eotaxin, all at highest dose after intradermal injection of mite allergen.

Subjects: NC/Nga mice

Chemical: Phthalates (DEHP)

Low doses tested: 4.8, 24, 120, or 600.0 μg/kg bw/d

Route of administration: dissolved in olive oil and injected intraperitoneally

Exposure duration: post-natal day 1 – 15 days of age (in three weekly doses) (comparable to human prenatal development from approximately day 1 of week 15 to day 1 of week 33)

Age of measurement: 8 to 10 weeks of age
