Results for Phthalates (DEHP)

Decreased aromatase activity in males at 1 but not 22 days old; increased aromatase activity in females at 22 days but not 1 day old

Subjects: Wistar rats

Chemical: Phthalates (DEHP)

Low doses tested: 0.015, 0.045, 0.135, 0.405 or 1.215 mg/kg bw/d

Other doses tested: 5, 15, 45, 135 or 405 mg/kg bw/d

Route of administration: dissolved in peanut oil and delivered through gavage

Exposure duration: gestational day 6 – post-natal day 21 (comparable to human prenatal development from approximately day 1 of week 2 to beyond birth)

Age of measurement: 1 and 22 days of age
