Results for Bisphenol A

Decreased percent of methylated CpG sites in oocytes of Igf2r at 20.0 and 40.0 μg/kg and Peg3 at 40.0 μg/kg. ERα mRNA levels were increased at 40.0 μg/kg with increased ER protein levels at both 20.0 and 40.0 μg/kg dose levels. Alterations in the percentages of primordial, primary, secondary, and antral follicles with increases in oocyte diameter at both doses. Mice treated with 40.0μ/kg had decreased numbers of GVBD stage oocytes. There were increased numbers of abnormal GVBDs at 20.0 and 40.0 μg/kg treatment groups.

Subjects: CD-1 mice

Chemical: Bisphenol A

Low doses tested: 20.0 or 40.0 μg/kg bw/d

Route of administration: dissolved in DMSO and delivered hypodermically

Exposure duration: post-natal day 5 – post-natal day 20 (comparable to human prenatal development from approximately day 1 of week 21 to day 1 of week 38)

Age of measurement: post-natal day 21
